Lance Corporal Edwin Otterson Baker, who served as Edward Oliver Brownlee with 13th Battalion (Royal Highlanders of Canada) in 3rd Infantry Brigade, 1st Canadian Division, died of tuberculosis on 22 June 1920 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Albany. His Commonwealth War Graves Commission record is here.

Private Samuel Barnett died of heart failure following a bout of pneumonia on 23 March 1918, a few days after he enlisted, and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn. His Commonwealth War Graves Commission record is here.

Major Ernest Arthur St George Bedbrook died of appendicitis on 1 May 1918, while serving with the Inspection Department of the British War Mission, and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx. His Commonwealth War Graves Commission record is here.

Serjeant George Birkenhead served with 118th Machine Gun Company and suffered from severe ‘shell-shock’. He died on 22 May 1921 in Brooklyn, where he was living with his sister, and is buried there in The Evergreens Cemetery. His Commonwealth War Graves Commission record is here.

Lieutenant Robert Archer Bowlby served briefly in England before being discharged due to a heart condition. He died of pneumonia on 15 October 1918 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx. His Commonwealth War Graves Commission record is here.

Trimmer Walter John Joseph Bowles served on the armed merchant cruiser HMS Alsatian. He died on 9 October 1918 during the influenza epidemic and is buried in The Evergreens Cemetery, Brooklyn. His Commonwealth War Graves Commission record is here.

Private Leonard Bowman (original family name ‘Bouman’) served in France with 116th Battalion in 3rd Canadian Division and was wounded in action on 28 August 1918. Private Patrick Bradley was an Irishman, who emigrated to the United States. He enlisted in early 1918 for service with the Canadian Expeditionary Force but fell ill soon afterwards. Sapper Patrick Keane, an Irish immigrant, served in France with the Inland Waterways and Docks section of the Corps of Royal Engineers. Having returned home, he drowned in an accident during his demobilisation furlough on 18 April 1919. Private Albert C. Kiggins, who served as Albert Carrigan, died on 17 March 1921 and is buried in Parkview Cemetery, Schenectady.

Sapper Matthew Neal Kirby was an immigrant from County Durham. He served briefly in Canada at the Canadian Engineers Training Depot before he died there from the effects of a perforated typhoid ulcer on 9 December 1917. Private Lyman Lavine died on 4 June 1920 and is buried in Pine Grove Beach Street No.1 Cemetery, Massena.

Gunner Arthur J. Manders died on 28 May 1921 and is buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Flushing.

Signalman Walter Robert Thorburn was one of a small detachment from the Royal Navy Reserve serving aboard the armed merchant ship SS War Knight. Having fallen ill, he was left behind when the War Knight sailed on its fateful last journey. He died in hospital on 5 April 1918 and is buried in Cypress Hills National Cemetery, Brooklyn. Captain Guy Halifax Wallace died on 9 December 1918 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx.
